SOMA is a compact wind and solar energy generator. This generator utilizes solar energy to help micro-turbines function effectively at low wind speeds, allowing clean energy production nearly 24/7 unlike solar energy by itself which can only produce energy for approximately â…“ of the day. Its compact nature allows the generator to fit easily in the existing infrastructure of both residential and commercial buildings. Like most sustainable alternatives, SOMA connects directly to the grid, allowing for a seamless transition of a building’s main energy supply both during installation and in case of an emergency. Currently, SOMA would be the only wind and solar generator on the market for individual use and has the potential to be priced lower than any competitor.
Our History
SOMA Technology started from the frustrations of not being able to utilize clean energy in urban areas. Climate change is a growing concern for current and future generations. For years now, our inventor, Matt, saw the increase in temperatures, the increase in natural disasters, and the decrease in snow every year. Matt hopes to combat the energy crisis with a clean, reliable technology that will benefit our planet.
IP Development
Although a patent is not yet in place for SOMA, the application process is underway. A CFD (computational fluid dynamics) model is being created to be used in the patent application. After a CFD model is complete and included in the patent application a physical prototype can then be produced. We are currently in the process of finding a candidate who can assist us with the necessary software required to develop this model.
