Customer Fit

Customer Profile Ranking

Our team has concluded that the three most important aspects on the customer profile are cost savings, fluctuating expenses, and consistent energy. The main concern brought up during customer interviews regarding energy needs was price, first and foremost. Fluctuating expenses play into this, as energy bills are susceptible to price increases over time as well as additional costs incurred for energy usage overages, both of which can make it difficult for a customer to effectively budget their finances. Finally, consistent energy (without power outages) are an important concern for customers. While outages are often caused by outside influences such as damage to power lines and stations, customers do value good customer service and quick maintenance responses.

Value Map Ranking

Our most important values are related to providing cost savings to the consumer. As such, the tangible hybrid energy generator product and its features are an important concern for us. Moving forward, our team would also like to look into the practicality of a potential leasing option for the generators, which could be an important alternative to those unable to afford the high lump sum payment that would come with the purchase and installment of a generator.

Summary of Results

Our customer profile and value map are most in line with each other, with the key focus on both sides being cost savings. As such, our team will need to focus on this factor in both conversations with the inventor and in preparation for future pitch competitions. Currently, our plan is to put a heavy emphasis (and do the appropriate research on) the potential savings to be gained from using the generator as a supplemental energy source over time, as well as look into what solar panel (and energy startups) are currently doing to help alleviate the high upfront costs associated with alternative enrgy.
